Citizens India Foundation (CIF) is a not-for-profit charitable trust formed by a socially committed group of like-minded people focusing on creating awareness and motivation among the Indian population on Healthcare, Education and Environment in order to improve the quality of life of our citizens.
CIF as formally inaugurated by Shri Oommen Chandy, Chief Minister, Govt. of Kerala at a function held at HLL Sargam Hall, Peroorkada in Trivandrum. Shri Oommen Chandy pointed out the imperative need for an immediate and effective intervention in health sector to ensure that benefits of development reach the common man. CIF has partnered with HLL Lifecare Limited (HLL), a Government of India Enterprise, a healthcare products manufacturing company for conducting nation-wide Voluntary Blood Donation programs.

As the very the first initiative in healthcare , a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organized jointly by CIF & HLL at HLL Sargam Hall,Peroorkkada.
Shri K M Mani, Finance Minister of Kerala, launched the website of CIF and Shri V S Sivakumar, Health Minister of Kerala, released a brochure on the voluntary blood donation.
Industries Minister Shri P K Kunhalikutty presented ‘Liquid Love’ award to the blood donors who donated blood, the higher number of times.
Shri Sashi Tharoor, who represents Thiruvananthapuram in the Lok Sabha, expressed the hope that CIF would act as a booster for the government initiatives in areas of health and education.
HLL Chairman & Managing Director Dr M Ayyappan, said that the company had partnered with the CIF initiative with an aim to work for the benefit of the common man.
Former Education Minister Shri M A Baby, Shri Luv Verma, Secretary, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Adv. K Chandrika also spoke on the occasion.
The Voluntary Blood Donation Camp organized by CIF at HLL Sargam Hall,Perrorkkada was a great success with the participation of the youth.102 Students from P.A Aziz College of Engineering and Technology and 18 students from Mar Ivanious College,Thiruvananthapuram came forward to donate their blood.
106 persons donated their blood in the camp. Out of the 106 donors, 50 were donated to General Hospital and 56 to the Medical College Hospital. 54 people were considered to be deferred from blood donation.
20 staff including Doctors and technicians under the leadership of Dr Mary Alosyious of General Hospital and Dr Kala of Medical college Hospital extended their service at the blood donation camp.
HLL employees – Mr. Binu, Mr. Nandakumar and Mr. Sunil were presented ‘Liquid Love Award’ for donating blood the higher number of times.
